Anti-social behaviour in your area

Dear resident

We are aware of issues regarding off-road motorbikes riding over local fields in and around Flamstead and the surrounding areas, and equally aware of the damage to crops, in addition to the impact on wildlife and local residents, in terms of noise and the safety of walkers and land-workers.

As you will appreciate, due to the relatively remote location, the terrain, and risks associated with chasing young people on fast-moving motor bikes, it is not always practical, or safe to try and apprehend these machines/riders.

Therefore, we are taking a more intelligence-led approach to identify either the riders, the bikes involved, or where they live/are garaged. To this end, we are appealing to you, local people, to help us identify these people, so we can take slow-time action in a safe environment - at their home addresses.

If you have any information about any motorbike/quadbike that is described above, please could you let us know, either by replying to this message, calling 101, or reporting it via our website home page.  We are looking for names, addresses, where bikes are stored, descriptions etc. All information received will be treated in confidence.

Any information received will also be used to support more pro-active measures by specialist police units.
